Ultra Running Experience in Yosemite, for Yosemite.

“In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.”  --John Muir

Centered in the principles of stewardship, respect and reverence of place, EPIC Adventure LLC hosts a 5-night, 6-day world-class ultra running excursion in Yosemite. For trail runners looking to give back as much as they gain from their running experiences in a protected ecosystem like Yosemite, EPIC is it. Not only are we committed to Leaving No Trace on the trail, we commit to donating 15% of every runner’s payment to Yosemite Conservancy.

We view this epic experience as one that provides spiritual inspiration just as much as it provides running fulfillment. This should happen on and off the trail, which is why we seek to match the grandeur of the fully supported trail runs with a base camp that provides deep joy, refreshing, a therapeutic focus, and authentic community. EPIC makes its base camp in a magnificent lodge in Wawona with hot tubs, cold tubs, massage table, Merced River soaks, gourmet meals, and comfortable beds.

DATE: July 18-23, 2025

7/18: If needed, a shuttle will bring you from Fresno International Airport to Wawona, Yosemite NP for a pre-dinner shakeout run that starts at 4pm. Dinner at 6:30pm; launch meeting 8pm.

7/23: we will squeeze in one more early morning run, meal, and shower before rolling back down the hill by 11am.

WHO

We love to host the adventure seeker that values what we value and offer—the unmatched beauty of Yosemite’s granite verticality and pine-speckled High Sierran trails, preserving this epic landscape, and filling your soul tank with a like-minded community of runners at a plush and nurturing base camp. Our guests will likely enjoy their time most if they are prepared to run at least 3-4 miles an hour for at least four hours a day. Every day has an out-and-back option, so there is no pressure to complete point-to-point options that are as long as 30 miles on some days.

WHERE: Basecamp & ROUTES

Basecamp is in the historic community of Wawona inside YNP. Our riverside lodge overlooks the Merced River at the end of a dirt road, and has all the amenities any trail runner could want. Everyone has a roommate and enjoys every amenity a modern luxury lodge could offer.

Depending on snowpack and other seasonal conditions, selected trail routes vary. Below is one possible itinerary we expect to be very possible in mid-July:

Day 1: pm run options including Wawona Meadow loop, Chilnualna Falls out and back, and Swinging Bridge loop

Day 2: North Rim run: Old Big Oak Flat to Yosemite Falls via El Capitan

Day 3: South Rim run: Glacier Point to Tunnel View

Day 4: Lembert Dome to Tenaya Lake via Glen Aulin Trail

Day 5: Lyell Canyon to Donohue Pass out-and-back

Day 6: Mariposa Grove to Wawona

*Other great options include: Tenaya Lake to Glacier Point via Clouds Rest, Nevada Fall, Vernal Fall, and Illilouette Fall; Tuolumne Meadows to Tenaya Lake via Cathedral Pass with Clouds Rest option, Mono Pass Trailhead to Parker Pass out-and-back.

Stewardship. Joy. Adventure.
